When a trailer alone is a master piece...

A preview of Terrence Malick's " The Tree of Life " starring Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain.

There are two ways of life: "the way of nature" to be tough and have fierce will to get ahead in life.
And "the way of grace" that unless you love, your life will flash by.
The trailer alone is a master piece.
The music : The Moldau by Smetana.

I'm really looking forward to this movie.

Dancing to ¨La vie en Rose¨

I recently spoke in other post about the importance of lighting and it's effect in photography . My teacher Sante D'Orazio taught me all the secrets about it last summer while in Ibiza. Since I came to Madrid I am observing the light , because in Spain is so bright, so white and clear. The light is different.

This morning I danced wearing a nightgown for my mother while she took all these photos of me with her old Canon camara and no flash. The transparencies, the effect of the light coming trough the window, the warm colours, the dance moves while we listen to ¨La vie en rose¨ makes them so special , even magical, as if I was dancing in an invented world.

WINTER BREAK

Hope you are still enjoying the holiday.

I’m home for christmas so there’s not that much blogging going on right now but I am planing to go to Ibiza for NYE and spend some time with friends. This winter is really getting to me. I never thought I would miss the summer so much and even though Ibiza will be cold I am sure I will see the sun and if I am lucky i will even dive in the sea.

Here’s something I am wearing these days.
First outfit - I wore it this morning for lunch with my family. The coat is from Zara, and i wore it with a fox scarf my mother gave me. Shorts Mango (new collection), and blouse Zara. The second photo reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock movies.

Second outfit - That's what I wore for the lovely Christmas dinner I had yesterday. Shoes vintage and the red military jacket is from BDBA. I am obsessed with this brand. I think I want pretty much all the clothes they have.

A quote I really love.

¨The first step — especially for young people with energy and drive and talent, but not money — the first step to controlling your world is to control your culture. To model and demonstrate the kind of world you demand to live in. To write the books. Make the music. Shoot the films. Paint the art.¨ Chuck Palahniuk

THE MORNING LIGHT

I remember this summer  how lucky i was to spend some time in Ibiza with one of the most important fashion photographers of all times Sante D'Orazio.
He showed me the importance of the light, and how a single photo taken from different angles can be so different. I spent three days taking the same picture at different times of the day and it's amazing how this helped me to understand that the light in photography is so important. The light is everything.

He also explained to me that a warm light looks good in the features of a woman,  while a man is better in a stronger light. Those days I shared with him were a unique teaching. He also told me interesting stories about Andy Warhol as he worked for him in the 80's and what he  thought about one of my favourite painters , Basquiat.
I also managed to interview him for an article which was  published on cover of Vogue.es.
You can still read the interview by clicking here.

And here are some photos with that special glow,  the morning light.

Tush is a German Magazine.

Since 2006, TUSH Magazine aims to present Beauty and Fashion far beyond actual trends and just seasonal looks. Very different to other German independent magazines TUSH covers Beauty and Fashion in a much wider sense, that is what Publisher Armin Morbach and his team call „Comments on Aesthetics & Society“.

No wonder that TUSH’s readers claim to be the magazine being VOGUE’s
coolest sister. Highly emotional images resume contemporary
Lifestyle on 250 pages every three months. TUSH is a collector’s
item for all who love to experience a beautiful, passionate and a never ending richness of life.Garnet Unborn Bracelet
Our Unborn bracelet and earring have been featured this month in Tush. I love the collage and the magazine has amazing editorials and interesting articles.

Featured in T de Tendencias. La Divina

A big thank you to La Divina, a very important person in the fashion world in Spain and NY, and senior buyer of Neiman Marcus, for her nice words about me in an interview in the amazing website T de Tendencias.
Interview by Chus Fajardo.

What do you think of it-girl phenomenon? Can you give some names nationally and internationally?

I think the it-girl phenomenon is nothing new, but now thanks to the media and blogs around the world, has been democratized and even corrupted.
In the Spanish case, as always peculiar to all, we decided that it-girls are girls like Tamara Falco and Carla Goyanes, and although I love them both, we have to be a little more open minded and realize that they are cute, fun and even fashionable, but are they it- girls?. None of them have the attitude that differs them from it's " species." In my humble opinion, an it-girl is a girl that even in jeans and without make up is capable of making people turn their way down the street. It's a matter of attitude, a way of being and not a way of ¨wanting to be " , you know?.

For example jewellery designer Patricia Nicolás, and heir of the spanish Jewellery designer Nicol's , is one of those it girls from the English Vogue. Her boho style is really exciting and her indescribable talent in designing jewellery is mega ultra cool and modern. I really hope to have her jewellery in the window display of Neiman Marcus very soon.¨

¿Puedes darnos algunos nombres a nivel nacional y a nivel internacional?

NICOL'S AND LADY GAGA

The big news of the day is the arrival to Spain of Lady Gaga.

Apparently she went shopping to the main streets in Madrid and spent the morning in Calle Serrano and Ortega y Gasset cheking some shops and jewellers. But the big news or so I've heard is that she only got pieces at Nicol's, at our store in Ortega y Gasset.

Lady Gaga is extreme in everything she does, and this time was also extreme as she bought 7 rings made of gold and diamonds and two necklaces in white gold. She also entered Ohmygod in calle Serrano and got several pieces of the "Chunky" collection.

This is great news that Lady Gaga while in Madrid has gone to our stores. I can only congratulate my father and feeling so proud of him, because he started his business by himself , when very few believed in him. The presence of Lady Gaga is just an anecdote in the amazing career of my father, but unequivocal sign that he has done things very well.

From here, all my love to you daddy.
